Like I said, just wanna whack this one out and then leave it. The Classic Rock pack seemed appropriate for January. It's still Winter, still cold and after some Thrash Metal I feel some nice calming Classic Rock could be welcomed by most, if not all. The songs I've picked are all quite challenging on Guitar, with a several tricky solos in songs like "25 Or 6 To 4" and "Hitch A Ride" but you can't deny they're not fun to play. The Thin Lizzy pack seemed like a good idea too, since they're an awesome band who deserve to be in GH/RB games a Hell of a lot more than they already are.
"Whiskey In The Jar" was a must, since it's one of their most famous and awesome songs. Don't know if it'd be allowed into the GH series, since the title refers to an alcoholic drink. Remember that whole 'American Pie' thing? Yeah, wouldn't want that...then again, they had 'Sex On Fire' in GH5 and that song is crap in comparison. "Bad Reputation" was used in GH2, seemed right to have it in GH again as a Master. "Killer On The Loose" has a fun solo and a funky sound to it. As for "Cold Sweat"...well, aside from being badass, that tapping solo is sure to provide a challenge for even the most experienced player.
Following two weeks of difficult Guitar material, it's time for something easy. Grunge! Yes, chords and strumming and shouting on the vocals. Kicking off the pack with "Wargasm", a song that has a very fun sounding riff if charted right. The STP and Alice In Chains songs would probably be a bit of a bore if you're not a fan of the songs...then again, that's the same for every other GH/RB track of theirs. The Mudhoney one is OK on Guitar but that's not the main aim of this pack in question. I was going to include a Nirvana track but a) They've had 2 track packs on GH already and b) ...yeah, the Cobain in GH5 thing.
The band headlining the Grunge pack is Pearl Jam, a band that people like and yet they were only in GH once. That song is in the DLC as a Full Band master and even though the GH3 chart of "Even Flow" was awesome, the Full Band one will probably be just as good. "Life Wasted" was in GH2 for the XBox 360 so that made it into the pack too. The other Pearl Jam songs are new to the GH/RB series, I believe, so all in all I reckon that makes a solid month of DLC. You may have noticed I've left it ridiculously late once again. I have one day to post 3 things I originally planned to get done several weeks ago. Challenge Accepted! Be seeing you.
